Council celebrates decision to keep all the district’s libraries open
Rochford District Council today has welcomed news that all its libraries are to remain open after a decision was made by Essex County Council to keep the community resource a priority.
The Leader of Rochford District Council, Cllr Mike Steptoe said: “We are delighted to announce that all the libraries within the Rochford District will remain open and in use for our residents.
“Not only do libraries provide safe, neutral spaces that are open to all, they also provide access to information and a wealth of knowledge that helps to both encourage and to support equality of opportunity.
“We welcome this decision made by Essex County Council and look forward to working alongside them to ensure our libraries continue to offer and expand on the number of services people have access too, especially as we advance forward in this modern digital age.”
